Blunt Force Trauma is an action movie with a neo-western nuance directed by Ken Sanzel and released by Voltage Pictures on DVD and Blu-ray on October 6, 2015. The movie features one-on-one cowboy-style shootouts while using bulletproof vests, a fresh premise that has never been seen before. However, the direct-to-video release of the movie made it classified as a B action movie.
Synopsis:
The movie follows John as he goes from one secret shootout to another. John meets Colt, a fellow marksman with a different goal. Colt is searching for the person responsible for her brother’s death, while John only has one aim, which is to face Zorringer in a shootout. The rules are simple: whoever shoots the fastest wins the duel. The bullets must hit their opponent’s bulletproof vest for it to be valid.
John wins his battles and earns winnings from his duels. Colt, who also wins her duel, sits next to John and offers to take him with her to the next stop because John knows the man she is looking for, Red Dolan. However, they are stopped by the police on the way. When the police officer sees their equipment, he challenged John to a duel. John defeats them easily, frees Colt, who was handcuffed in the police car, and they continue their journey.
When they reach a town, John gets involved in a shootout. He learns afterward that he will not get another one because he has had trouble with the police. Later, John and Colt learn that Red Dolan has died and they see him in the morgue. Colt is not happy with John’s advice and leaves him after their duel.
John travels to a farmhouse for another duel. He faces a big opponent who is not affected when shot. They shoot each other until one falls outside the circle and cannot stand up anymore. John wins with a wound behind his bulletproof vest. John faints on the pile of hay after taking his prize money. Colt finds and rescues him, takes him to her house, and helps him recover.
After much rest and light exercises, John can shoot again and intends to continue his adventure. Colt takes John to a small inn where they wait for their turn to meet Zorringer. One day, there is a robbery at the inn. John and Colt shoot the perpetrator. Afterward, Colt chooses to leave John because she does not want to see him die.
Zorringer’s right-hand, Marla, comes to take John after Colt has gone. Will John win the shootout against Zorringer, or will he lose? Watch the movie to find out.
