The latest episode, “The Rising of the Founding Titan” in Attack on Titan Season 2 Part 2 Episode 3, has revealed that the Founding Titan has been awakened. Zeke and Eren have met, and the planned rumbling has taken place. With this, Zeke’s main goal of sterilizing all the Eldian people, the descendants of Ymir Fritz, is just one step away. The sterilization project, or Euthanasia, proposed by Zeke, aims to end the war and break the chain of the world’s hatred. Zeke claims that if the sterilization project truly occurs, both Eldian and Marleyan nations will be saved from continuous wars.
However, Zeke’s plan has been rejected both by the Marleyan and Eldian nations. Initially, Eren and his friends half-heartedly supported Zeke’s plan. In Episode 3, Eren admits that he only pretended to agree so that he could meet Ymir, the founder.
Regardless of whether or not Zeke’s Euthanasia project is successful, peace on Paradise Island will not truly happen. This plan will only weaken the Eldian nation, and it is far more dangerous. Without descendants, the Eldians will age and weaken. If that happens, other nations outside the walls will easily attack Paradise Island, even though it is guarded faithfully by Titans. This is because the other nations’ advanced technology has almost surpassed the Titans.
Meanwhile, Kiyomi Azumabito, a noblewoman from Hizaru, is eyeing the abundant natural resources of Paradise Island, even before the Founding Titan awakens. If the Eldian nation weakens due to the lack of descendants, other nations will quickly wipe out the Eldians, either through warfare or diplomacy.
Therefore, even if Zeke’s proposed Euthanasia project, which he claims to be a project for humanity’s sake, is successful, the Eldian nation will never experience a peaceful life. Instead of dying slowly in peace, as Zeke claims, the Euthanasia Project will cause the quick suicide of the Eldian nation. This is evidence that Zeke’s Euthanasia project is nothing more than a utopia!
