Apple Music has been a popular streaming music service since its launch in 2015 by Apple Inc. It provides access to millions of songs, playlists, and music videos on demand, making it easier for Apple users to listen to their favorite music. Users can also tune in to live radio broadcasts, curated playlists, and exclusive content from their favorite artists. The service is available on various devices, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple TV, and requires a monthly subscription fee.
Lately, the company has added a new feature to its app, signaling the entry of Apple Music into the classical music realm. According to Gizmochina, the new feature, named Music Classical, shares many similarities with the existing Apple Music service, such as high-quality streaming of up to 192 kHz/24-bit lossless format, exclusive content, comprehensive search options, and Apple UI layout. However, unlike its predecessor, Music Classical is dedicated to the music stylings of Johann Sebastian Bach and Johannes Brahms.
The app is set to launch at the end of this month and will be free to download, but users need to have an Apple Music subscription to use it. It will be exclusively available on iOS 15.4 or later, with an Android version coming soon.
It’s important to note that Apple’s move to launch Music Classical may be a strategic response to the recent UI changes introduced by its competitor, Spotify. The new home feed and experience, launched at the Stream On conference, feature an increased number of previews, shortcuts, and easily discoverable feed items, along with recommendations, all in portrait mode.
Although Spotify has not confirmed when this new user interface will be launched to Premium and Free users worldwide, it is expected to be released soon. The company has also recently launched an update to its plus button, replacing the heart button that was previously present in the old version of Spotify.
In conclusion, Apple Music’s latest addition of Music Classical is a great move for music enthusiasts who prefer the classical stylings of Johann Sebastian Bach and Johannes Brahms. With this feature and its existing user-friendly interface, Apple Music is certainly a great option for music lovers.
