The highly anticipated live-action adaptation of the beloved anime and manga series “One Piece” is set to be released on Netflix soon. A teaser has been released, revealing the characters and giving fans a glimpse of what’s to come. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at the characters and compare them to their animated counterparts.

1. Luffy

Played by IƱaki Godoy in the live-action version, Luffy has a similar appearance to his anime and manga counterpart. However, one noticeable difference is Godoy’s thick eyebrows, which adds to his personal charm. It remains to be seen whether he can portray Luffy’s fun-loving and goofy personality.

2. Zoro

Mackenyu Arata portrays Zoro in the live-action version. His sharp features give off a Zoro-like vibe, and so far, he seems like a good fit for the role. However, fans will have to wait and see how he performs in action.

3. Nami

Emily Rudd takes on the role of Nami in the live-action adaptation. Although she has the same orange hair as Nami, there are moments when she looks like herself rather than the character. Overall, Rudd is a good choice for the role, and hopefully, she can capture Nami’s cunning and intelligent personality.

4. Usopp

Jacob Gibson plays the role of Usopp. From the beginning, many fans believed that Gibson was the perfect match for Usopp. However, the character’s unique long nose is not present in the live-action adaptation, which might be a disappointment for fans.

5. Sanji

Taz Skylar portrays the character of Sanji. While his hairstyle is similar to the anime and manga version, his noticeable difference is his eyebrows. In the live-action version, his eyebrows are not as circular as in the original, but this doesn’t detract from his performance as Sanji.

6. Buggy

Jeff Ward plays the role of Buggy in the live-action adaptation. In the teaser, Buggy has two braided pigtails that are longer than in the anime version. Buggy also wears clown-like makeup on his face, unlike in the anime and manga where he has a natural skin tone.

7. Lord of The Coast

The Lord of The Coast is a Sea King that appeared in the first episode and bit Shanks’ arm. In the live-action version, the monster is created using computer graphics and looks similar to its anime and manga counterpart.

In conclusion, while some characters’ appearances differ slightly compared to their anime and manga counterparts, the actors chosen for the roles seem to fit their respective characters well. As fans eagerly await the series’ release, it remains to be seen how well the live-action adaptation will be received.
