Garp and Roger: The Legendary Representatives of the Old Era in One Piece

Posted on

In the world of One Piece created by Eiichiro Oda, pirates and marines play crucial roles in driving the story forward. Among the many characters introduced, two iconic figures symbolize the old era of piracy and marines: Garp and Roger.

Roger represents the old era of piracy and stands against oppression and tyranny. Throughout the story, Oda portrays Roger as a character who always helps those in need. On the other hand, Garp embodies the principles of justice that contradict the corrupt government of the marines. He hates oppression and has a strong sense of what is right.

Despite belonging to different sides, these two legendary characters possess empathy and humanistic principles. However, as the story progresses and One Piece enters a new era, two new characters emerge as representatives of the new age: Luffy and Koby.

Luffy, like Roger, has helped people who have suffered from oppression. As a captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy is also a Yonko, one of the four most powerful pirates in the world. Although he is a pirate, Luffy never acts oppressively or hurts others.

Koby is the protege of Garp, and he shares Garp’s sense of justice. Koby looks up to Garp as a role model and hero. Like Garp, Koby hates injustice and has empathy for others.

Just like Garp and Roger, Luffy and Koby may seem to be on opposing sides, but they share mutual respect for each other. As One Piece continues, we can only wonder what new and exciting characters and adventures await us.
