In the world of manga and anime, having a great teacher is crucial to a character’s growth and success. But what happens when a student surpasses their teacher in strength and ability? In this article, we’ll take a look at five anime characters who have become stronger than their own teachers.

1. All Might (My Hero Academia) – Stronger Than Gran Torino

Following Nana Shimura’s death, Gran Torino takes on the role of All Might’s trainer. As Nana’s sidekick, Gran Torino understands how One For All works and trains All Might as Nana’s successor. Thanks to Gran Torino’s tough training, All Might becomes the strongest hero in Japan and is even known as the Symbol of Peace. However, towards the end of the series, it’s revealed that All Might has surpassed Gran Torino in strength.

2. Gon Freecss (Hunter x Hunter) – Stronger Than Wing and Biscuit Krueger

Gon learns about Nen from Wing just before his fight with Hisoka in Heaven’s Arena. Wing teaches him the basics of Nen and how to face intimidating auras. Later, Gon meets Biscuit Krueger, who teaches him and Killua how to strengthen their Nen. Thanks to Biscuit’s teachings, Gon is able to become the first person to complete the game Greed Island. By the Chimera Ant arc, Gon is one of the strongest characters in the series and is even able to defeat Neferpitou.

3. Naruto Uzumaki (Naruto) – Stronger Than Kakashi Hatake and Jiraiya

Naruto starts off as part of Team 7, mentored by Kakashi. He learns basic ninja techniques and is later trained by the legendary Sannin Jiraiya. Jiraiya teaches him valuable lessons on controlling Chakra and even how to use the Rasengan. However, by the end of the series, Naruto surpasses both of his former mentors and becomes the strongest ninja in the world.

4. Denji (Chainsaw Man) – Stronger Than Kishibe

Denji is born as a hybrid of Chainsaw Devil, making him incredibly strong from the beginning. However, he lacks fighting techniques and doesn’t fully understand his powers. He is trained by Kishibe, a veteran Devil Hunter, who teaches him how to fight and control his abilities. Although Denji continually loses to Kishibe, he eventually surpasses him by fully unlocking the power of the Chainsaw Devil.

5. Tanjiro Kamado (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) – Stronger Than Sakonji Urokodaki

Before joining the Demon Slayer Corps, Tanjiro is trained by Sakonji Urokodaki, who teaches him how to use the Water Breathing technique. But as time goes on, Tanjiro discovers his father’s legacy – the Sun Breathing technique – and even incorporates the skills from his training in the Demon Slayer Corps. By the end of the series, Tanjiro is able to surpass his original teacher and become one of the strongest demon slayers.

These five characters prove that having a good teacher is important, but it’s also possible to surpass them with hard work and dedication. Who are your favorite anime characters who have become stronger than their teachers? Let us know in the comments below.
